3 Steps for the Perfect Cat Eye

feminine
Have you mastered the cat eye? I love the big, dramatic, liquid-liner look, but-depsite asking tons of makeup artist their secret-I've never been able to DIY without looking like a rockabilly wannabe. Until recently! Here's my fave new way to create a perfect, subtle cat eye:

First, pick up a creamy eye liner pencil (I'm really into the FACE Stockholm Art Eye Pencil) and draw a line from the inner corner of your eye just past the outer corner. Don't do anything fancy. Just make the line about as thick as a piece of angel hair pasta.

Then, use a clean, angled eye liner brush (like the Sephora Collection Classic Angled Eyeliner Brush #15) to very gently smudge the liner from the inner corner of your eye to the outer corner. Once you hit the outer edge of eye, ange the brush toward your temple and brush just past the end of your eyeliner line. Repeat until you have the cat eye shape you want.

Set the look by tracing over the eye pencil with a liquid liner pen (a great option: Top Shop Felt Pen Liner). That way, you'll get the crisp look of liquid liner without the potential for an epic mess.
